FEFO follows the expiry date

First expiry, first out prioritizes eligible lots by their expiry date. A recently received lot may need to ship before an older lot if its expiry date is earlier.

FIFO follows arrival order

First in, first out prioritizes the stock that arrived first. It can be useful for stock rotation when expiry dates are not the deciding factor.

Keep eligibility separate from priority

Before choosing which lot goes first, exclude stock that cannot be allocated. Dino’s FEFO allocation excludes recalled and expired lots.

Maintain the underlying lot records

Record the lot number, warehouse, available quantity, and expiry date. Review alerts and recall status regularly; an allocation rule depends on accurate source data.
